Amazing stay!
Lovely, peaceful daylight basement. Wonderful jacuzzi. There was an amazing heated toilet seat and an excellent shower. It was nice to have a meditation room with a treadmill. It was a bit chilly - I don’t think there was any way to turn on heat. There was a space heater. The first night we used the gas fireplace, but it didn’t work after that night. I messaged the owner and he said to look at the instructions for starting it. It still wouldn’t start. He asked me to send a picture, so I did. He did not respond again, and we were unable to use the fireplace for the rest of our stay. The dishwasher leaked. There were wet, smelly towels left in the washing machine. We could hear a bit of noise from the people upstairs even late into the night, but it was ok. Overall a very pleasant stay with great value for the price.

Had a lovely stay at Allen's as a quiet getaway just outside of the city. The accomodations were more than we needed as a couple with multiple beds and lots of space for larger parties. We got to enjoy hot tub soaks in the evening and a quiet relaxing space to unwind after our day. For the price this rental is an absolute bargain.

I booked this home for visiting family and it was just perfect. They enjoyed the space so much, especially the bonus meditation/yoga studio. The host was careful to make sure this important family visit went according to plan. 10/10, can highly recommend!
Had a wonderful staycation with my daughter at Allen Lu’s little oasis. Right off the burk Gilman trail overlooking a greenbelt made you feel as if you were alone on a mountain side. Thanks especially to Allen’s team for helping accommodate our needs. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who is alone on business and wants a retreat or who has brought the family along and wants to ensure they are provided for.
Pros: Nice layout with ample space for our food and clothing (my husband and I were there for a 16-day stay); coffee and tea provided, and lots of towels; an outside covered and heated hot tub and sauna (though we only used the hot tub); responsive host. Minor annoyances: You have to go down a lot of steps at the side of the house to enter. That wasn't a problem per se, except for the multiple trips required to haul all our belongings from the car and back; the gas fire stove insert took multiple tries to light. Sometimes, the pilot light wouldn't come on, and other times it came on but never ignited. Hopefully, the stove will be repaired or replaced in the near future. That said, there are two space heaters in the house as well. Con: The owner had family (possibly grandchildren?) staying for both weekends we were renting. We were awakened between 5:30 - 6 am each Saturday and Sunday by what sounded like tap dancers wearing lead boots cavorting overhead.
Stated it was traditional sauna / max temp 104. It is a radiant flooring setup / no other heating element in there. No tv remote. Sent wrong remote. 2 washcloths for 7 days /sent more missing blender /sent. The PILE of scented items I had to remove then hunt for the hidden rest was insane. Asked they remove / took their team a couple days to do (placed in the “sauna.” Place reeked even after removal to the point I had to just leave and get a diff. place to stay. Was SICK from it at least four days after leaving which makes me think it wasn't just the two reed diffusers and 10+ weird large sachet type things seems a likely mold problem in that basement. Wanted to air the place out there were no screened windows. They wanted to spray the property while I was there. Thankfully they rescheduled when I said please no. The person does too many listings to do a good job. Also they want no shoes. It was the worst stay of my life. I’m still recovering. Would have left sooner if I could have!

Cancellation policy
Refundable Bookings
Cancellation deadlines:
- For stays under 15 nights, you may cancel or reschedule up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund. For stays 15 nights or longer, the cancellation window is 60 days.
- For some homes, a 30-day deadline applies — this will be clearly shown before you book.
- Cancellations must be submitted before 4 PM EST on the deadline day to qualify.
Fair-Refund Policy
If you cancel after the deadline:
- STAYOO will relist your dates and automatically refund you for any nights that rebook.
- The refund per night will be the lower of the original price or the rebooking rate. Nights that do not rebook are non-refundable.
Half-Now, Half-Later Bookings
- The first half of your payment is non-refundable.
- The second half may be refunded according to the standard cancellation policy above.
Non-Refundable Bookings
If you selected a Non-Refundable rate at checkout, the booking cannot be changed or canceled, and no refund will be issued.
Date Changes & Rebooking
Once a stay is canceled, you can't rebook the same dates yourself. If you need help choosing new dates, our Concierge team is happy to assist.
Transfers to Another Guest
You may transfer your booking to someone else at no charge. Just contact the Concierge with the new guest's name and email. The new guest must accept the transfer for it to take effect.
Policy Match Guarantee
If a better price is available for the same property on Airbnb or the owner's site, contact the Concierge — STAYOO will match it.
